The active safety technologies of Toyota Safety Sense are designed to enhance driver and passenger protection and support your awareness and decision-making under a variety of conditions and contingencies.^[S1]

Pre-collision Safety System (PCS)

The Pre-Collision Safety System has been designed to alert you when a frontal collision is likely with another vehicle, pedestrian, or a cyclist. If a possible collision is detected, the vehicle will warn the driver and may assist in applying brake pressure, and in certain situations may brake autonomously to help mitigate or prevent and accident^{[S1][J11][J12]}.

Road Sign Assist (RSA)

To help you stay aware of the current speed limit, the front mounted smart camera is designed to recognise certain Australian speed signs and display it when you’re driving^{[S1][J11][J12]}.

Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Lane Trace Assist (LTA)

Lane Departure Alert (LDA) is designed to scan the road ahead and identify lane markings, so you’ll get the crucial warnings you need if you start to driftS1. Lane Trace Assist (LTA) is intended for highway use and designed to work with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), to observe road markings and make adjustments to help you stay centred in your lane, applying extra steering support if necessary (for example, driving along a curved road)^{[S1][J11][J12]}.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)

This system is designed to smoothly control acceleration and deceleration up to your preset speed, allowing you to follow a vehicle while maintaining an appropriate distance^{[S1][J11][J12]}

Adaptive High-Beam System (AHS)

When travelling above a certain speed, the Adaptive High-Beam System is designed to use a camera to detect other vehicles on the road, then automatically adjusts the high-beam light pattern to keep other driver’s vision clear, while still keeping the surrounding areas well lit^{[S1][J11][J12]}

Automatic High-Beam (AHB)

With Automatic High-Beam a built-in camera detects the headlights of oncoming traffic and the tail lamps of vehicles in front. If the camera sensor detects a change, like headlights or tail lights, it may shift from high to low beam to help you maintain safe and considerate driving^{[S1][J11][J12]}

Driver Monitor Camera (DMC)

This system uses a camera located above the steering wheel to monitor a driver's alertness and condition. A warning is delivered if the system detects signs such as eyes drifting off the road. The DMC helps to enhance the performance of the Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) through earlier detection of inattentiveness^{[S1][J11][J12]}.

Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS)

A system designed to monitor driver input when Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is activated. If the system fails to detect driver input for some time, audible warnings will alert the driver. If no further inputs are detected, the system brings the vehicle to a gradual stop while keeping it safely in lane. Hazard lights are activated to warn other road users, and doors are unlocked to allow emergency services easy access if required^{[S1][J11][J12]}.

Blind Spot Monitor

Using radar sensors, the Blind Spot Monitor is designed to detect vehicles in a driver’s blind spot, and alert the driver via warnings in the side mirror^[S1][J12].

Rear Cross Traffic Alert

If the vehicle is equipped with parking sensors, Rear Cross Traffic Alert is designed to alert you when vehicles are approaching while you’re reversing, using radar to detect approaching vehicles before you can see them^[S1][J12].

Panoramic View Monitor

The Toyota Panoramic View Monitor offers a 360° view, designed to enhance visibility and precision for safer parking and navigation^[S1][J12].

SRS Airbags

Standard to every Toyota vehicle, SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) airbags, are designed to inflate during a collision to cushion and protect occupants from serious injuries.

Reversing Camera

The Reversing Camera is designed to raise spatial awareness by offering a view of what’s behind your vehicle while you’re in reverse gear, to help keep yourself and others safe^[J12].
