Toyota Australia has announced it will cease taking orders for the current-generation GR Supra performance coupe within August 2025, with the current-generation to be discontinued after six years on sale in Australia.
Since its launch in Australia in September 2019, the GR Supra has delighted customers with its rear-drive dynamics, turbocharged performance and eye-catching design, helping to elevate the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing profile locally.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the current GR Supra will leave a lasting legacy in the automotive industry.
“The GR Supra already had a sterling legacy when the current generation launched in 2019, and we’re pleased to say it has exceeded the expectations set by its predecessors,” Mr Hanley said.
“Its pulse-raising performance, sleek coupe design and thrilling dynamics helped raise the profile of our GR portfolio, helping to pave the way for other exciting models like the GR Yaris and GR Corolla.
“While customers will no longer be able to purchase their own GR Supra by the end of August, fans of the GR Supra will be able to follow its story when it lines up on the Supercars Championship grid in 2026 and beyond.”
The GR Supra line-up consists of the GT, GTS and recently added Track Edition, all available with the choice of a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Customers looking to purchase a GR Supra are encouraged to speak to their preferred Dealer before closure as stock is limited.
The Track Edition represents the most focused version of the GR Supra, with multiple under-the-skin enhancements including motorsport-inspired suspension components and bracing, making it more agile and dynamic than ever.
Front wheel arch aero flaps, upgraded front tyre spats, a carbon fibre ducktail spoiler and 19-inch matte black alloy wheels with beefier red-painted brake calipers set the Track Edition apart from the rest of the GR Supra range.
All examples of the GR Supra are powered by a smooth and potent 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine producing 285kW/500Nm, with power delivered to the rear wheels with the assistance of a limited-slip differential.
Since its arrival in Australian showrooms, the GR Supra has attracted over 1400 buyers to the midway point of 2025.
